I work part time on consultancy projects at Aurora Research. Projects I have worked on include the following: • The proposed Thezi-Langa 50MW solar photovoltaic (PV) energy facility in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, Eastern Cape Province, • Various scientometrics projects including, (phase II and III) for the South African National Research Foundation (NRF) and • The innovation baseline study for Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and the South African Manufacturing Technology, Demonstration Centre (SMTDC).

Led a team of four Radio Planning Engineers in addition to interfacing equipment vendors, and collaborating with other teams including Projects, Mobile Network Operations, Network Quality Assurance, and Marketing. Duties: • Leading, mentoring and assessing RAN Planning Engineers. • Planning Radio Access Network and associated power planning • Managing frequency resources allocated by the ICT regulator (ZICTA) • Managing the Radio Access Network Database • Developing planning procedures and processes. • Preparing project proposals and technical specifications for tender • Evaluating tenders and contract negotiations • Liaising with ZICTA regarding frequency resources • Liaising with Project department and equipment vendors • Liaising with core network planning and fixed network planning sections on shared power requirements for sites with co - located equipment. • Overseeing Annual Network planning (NP) Budget planning • Contributing to NP strategy input

Worked as part of a team of eight Radio and Transmission Planning Engineers and one power planning Engineer. I worked on several projects as project Engineer, leading the clerks of works in various locations across the country. As project supervisor, I led the end-to-end integration transmission and radio access including constructing shelters and towers, backup power, BTS and installing, testing and commissioning equipment. Duties: • Radio Network and Transmission Planning • Power system planning for both on grid and off grid sites • Preparation of project proposals • Preparation of technical specifications for tender • Evaluation of tenders and contract negotiation • Management of Power, GSM, CDMA WLL, and transmission projects
