Job Description

  • Risk Monitoring and Reporting 60%

Risk Monitoring and Reporting 60%

  • Review and check that adequate controls are in place for the Retail cluster units (Digital Channels, Cards, Liabilities, Assets, Customer service and CLM).
  • To conduct CPA/RCSA assurance reviews in the Retail cluster  team and share report with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to close all Control issues identified and raised in various audits, within agreed timelines and Issue Closure Packs prepared and signed off.
  • To carry out checks on all operational polices, processes and procedure manuals in Retail cluster and see to it that they are current and up to date
  • Perform periodic compilation of key risk reports and returns. See to it that Key Risk Indicators for High-Risk processes is regularly monitored to enable proactive mitigation of any material deterioration in the control environment.
  •   Execute all control exceptions emanating from daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc checks and see to it that they are appropriately documented and summarised on the Remediation Log to enable tracking.   Put into action agreed corrective tasks, address the root cause and that agreed corrective actions are tracked to closure.
  • Report key findings from the Remediation Log to the Financial   Risk and controls Manager for inclusion into the Monthly Risk & Control Pack for escalation. Report all major areas of concern to the Head Risk, Governance and Controls and when noted.
  •  Capture all risk events on ORMS system as and when they are reported by Branch and Retail Cluster.

Risk Identification and Analysis 30%


  • Execute projects/Initiatives as assigned from time to time by Line manager or Unit head across Retail cluster units (Digital Channels, Cards, Liabilities, Assets, Customer service and CLM).
  • Work with process owners to implement controls in addressing key risks in the area of snap checks. Ensure that snap checks are regularly reviewed and revised to reflect current risks and controls.
  • Create risk awareness within Retail at all levels of staff in order for staff to understand all items of risk relating to their jobs as well how their jobs relate to the various acts and accords.
  • Assist with product reviews to monitor that they are up to date and are reviewed within agreed timelines.
  • Conduct Quality assurance on New to bank accounts and share results with the respective Branches.
  • Conduct Post Implementation Reviews for new products and share report with various stakeholders.
  • Support the Retail function in Audit preparations

Stakeholder Management 10%


  • Check and ensure adherence to TCF and all other minimum standards
  • Perform any other risk and control task as assigned from time to time.
  • Train and Coach Retail teams on:
  • Effectively performing snap checks and other risk & control reviews i.e., how to effectively test the adequacy of controls related to the assigned snap checks.
  • Interpretation of policies and procedures relating to the assigned snap checks.
  • How to conduct quality assurance reviews and closure of ICPS
  • Share knowledge, experience and best practices with team members and other managers within and beyond Retail function.
  • Represent the Risk Governance & Control Manager in various in-country Risk, Control meetings, and review sessions as assigned.
